GLASROC X SHEATHING BOARD *2.5MM

Glasroc X Sheathing Board *2.5mm is a high performance gypsum sheathing board with mould resistant properties.

WHERE TO USE

Use it to provide external weather protection to Steel Frame System (SFS) constructions prior to the installation of the finished exterior façade system.

COMPOSITION

This product is made up of a gypsum board with a glass fibre mat reinforcement which has inherent mould resistant properties. The mat protects the board with its hydrophobic coating, and has additional UV resistant properties.

EFFECT OF CONDENSATION 

The thermal insulation and ventilation requirements of national Building Regulations aim to reduce the risk of condensation and mould growth in new buildings. However, designers should take care to eliminate all possibility of problems caused by condensation, particularly in refurbishment projects.

CUTTING

Either cut the board with a plasterboard saw, or score the front face with a sharp knife, snap it over astraightedge. Cut holes for things like socket boxes using a utility saw.

JOINTING 

To maintain optimum performance, apply Glasroc X Sealant into the joint ensuring good contact is made with the sides of the joints, and ensuring continuity of the seal where required. Tooling can be carried out within *0 minutes if necessary, using a wet tooling stick, trowel or spatula. Surplus sealant can be removed if necessary within *0 minutes using a damp cloth or sponge.

FIXING

Fix the board with the decorative side facing outwards to receive finishes. Install fixings at least *3mm from cut edges and *0mm from bound edges. Position cut edges at internal angles wherever possible. Stagger horizontal and vertical joints between layers by at least **0mm.

SNAGGING AND MINOR REPAIRS

To maintain all performance requirements it will normally be necessary to replace a damaged board; please contact our Technical Support Team for specific advice.

STORAGE 

Boards should be stored on a firm, flat and level surface. If the boards are temporarily stored outside they should be kept clear of the ground and securely covered with an anchored polythene sheet or tarpaulin to protect from dampness and inclement weather.

PACKAGING OVERVIEW

Supplied on a reusable wooden pallet.

RECYCLABILITY

You can recycle this product as long as it has minimal contamination from non-gypsum materials.

DISPOSAL

Segregate boards from non-gypsum waste for recycling where possible. Dispose of them according to local authority requirements.
